1.
I go soft and shrouded, into the field of dream Deep within the silence, a world that lies between My skirts are torn and trailing, along the foamy shore I come to sing the seagull’s song and lose myself once more Tangled are the turnings that lead to life in chains Ruthless are the burnings, where only stone remains Sorrowful the keening of the ocean master’s wife I await the greening that brings us back to life Still the screaming world, let my wings become unfurled Soothe the scorching earth, and I will go...into the mist. Fathomless the master who rules the murky deep Shroud me in your silence and carry me from sleep Gentle rain will soothe me when nightmares won’t subside Wrap me in your silver cloak and bid your horses ride Still the screaming world, let my wings become unfurled Soothe the scorching earth, and I will go...into the mist. Drench my dreams in rain, bathe me in your wetness again. I breath your salty air, and I am gone, ooh ohh ooh...into the mist.

Undertow 03:40
Take me out where the wild storms blow Edge of the ocean, sun sinks low I want to feel the rain on my face I want to know the soul of this place Once we shone with a silvery light Brilliant stars that pierce the night Free as the wind in the heron’s wing Free as the song that the seals sing Take me, take me, down to the Undertow Waking, waking, the song in the stones Let my wings become wet with the overflow Take my breath away I’ve had enough of your bitter wine Poison the streams and tell us it’s fine Let us flee from the churches while their dour bells ring Let us run in the sand and remember to sing Take me down where the silence is deeper Wrap me into an eloquent sleep Dream a world from a slumbering seed A chance to live beyond the ruin of greed Take me, take me, down to the Undertow Waking, waking, the song in the stones Let my wings become wet with the overflow Take my breath away

Ghost Forest 03:32
Sentinels rise from the ocean We watch with remembering eyes Still we stand, long forgotten cathedrals Rising up from the sands of time Majestic and mighty the Evergreen Life long past now frozen in stone Voice of the wind rising Ghost in the forest, branches of bone What lives on in the ghost of the forest When all is stripped to bone What stories long forgotten Longing to be known Our silence eternal, our stories unspoken Washed away on the turbulent tides Our secrets lie safe in the depths of the ocean Pearls of wisdom lost to time Majestic and mighty the Evergreen Life long past now frozen in stone Voice of the wind rising Ghost in the forest, branches of bone What lives on in the ghost of the forest When all is stripped to bone What stories long forgotten Longing to be known
4.
Rusalka 05:11
Sailor sleep, I’ll drench your dreams in dread A wisp of something better left unsaid My voice a silver arrow Bearing salt into the wounds of your regret Songs ensnare you, it is time My tides will overtake you Drowning in the voices that forsake you Cast away your claim on life, face your tomb and cave With lilting lies and longing eyes I lay your murky grave Horror creeps, and binds you in your fear Stop your pleading, there’s no one to hear Bruised and bleeding Broken lips betray the violence of your kiss Life receding, it is time You’ll pay for what you’ve taken Yours a dream from which you won’t awaken Cast away your claim on life, face your tomb and cave With lilting lies and longing eyes I lay your murky grave The mist is lifting, lifting, none shall ever find you Your dreams so dark and drifting, evermore shall bind you.
5.
Shipwrecked 04:14
Ghosts of twilight, reach their fingers Drawing down the veils of the night In my mind, foreboding lingers The shore has faded from my sight Weep for me, my true love My hopes are lost to me Shattered on the rocks of misgiving Cruel mistress of the sea I gave the word, to draw us closer I gave the word that cast us to our doom None could guess, the cost was so dear In such a fragile balance fate does loom. Weep for me, my true love I long to see your face once more Our ship lies battered on the breakers And casts us far from shore

Secrets 03:45
There it goes again, a prickling on my skin Feels like someone’s watching me, waiting, trying to get in Too much to remember, too much to hold on to Memories unraveling, remnants of a time long ago I’m not going back there, I’m not going back there again Who do we leave behind, when we decide we cannot make amends What secrets, what secrets do you keep When the shadows come alive, when the shadows come alive What do you, what do you dare not speak When the ocean gets too deep, too deep to survive I have not been back there in 20 years or more Left my sorrow buried when I walked out that door Why did I not hear you, why did I not hear you call my name We were just children, red rubber boots muddied in the rain What dreams do you nurture, what longings do you dare not speak aloud Will somebody hear you, will somebody tell you that they’re proud? What secrets, what secrets do you keep When the shadows come alive, when the shadows come alive What do you, what do you dare not speak When the ocean gets too deep, too deep to survive
7.
You breathe into me and I find my way The clouds in my eyes grow soft and gray I will meet you where the white gulls cry The silver waves are whispering their lullabies I feel you growing closer, your sunset glowing rose Wrapped in garments like the waves No secrets to save, you anchor me Your tides welcome me in a rushing flood A homecoming washes through my blood When I breath you in I am open as the sky A wildness on the wind meant for you and I I feel you growing closer, your sunset glowing rose Wrapped in garments like the waves No secrets to save, you anchor me When I round the bend and come down over the hill The salt sea air, I drink my fill Everything we’ve been comes rolling in Everything we said remembering I feel you growing closer, your sunset glowing rose Wrapped in garments like the waves No secrets to save, you anchor me.

Breathing is easier when you are near me The phantoms that haunt me soon fall away In my mind you are my champion Your ship is my haven when I’m cast away I am drowning in your waters My feet can’t touch the ground Surrounding me, ocean’s daughters Swimming in a swirl of light and sound I am remembering to breathe in your waters I cherish the silence when noise fades away In your depths I find my solitude When you are holding me, I find my way I am drowning in your waters My feet can’t touch the ground Surrounding me, ocean’s daughters, swirling all around The waves are pounding on the silver shore, turning stone to sand Your thunder sounding, and I still want more Ever closer to your promised land I am drowning in your waters, my feet can’t touch the ground I am surrounded, ocean’s daughter, finally come unbound The waves are pounding, on the silver shore, turning stone to sand Your thunder sounding, and I still want more Ever closer to your promised land

The Lure 04:17
Oh I feel your tides coming in for the night Drifting down into sleep You wrap me up in your silvery light You draw me down to your deep In your rhythms I am yearning For a life that I cannot see In your seasons I am learning To let myself fly free Clarion calling, you are my cure Endlessly wandering, drawn by your lure When the twilight settles on my restless mind And crimson drains from the sky I come to leave my troubles behind As I watch the daylight die I am a wanderer With sand between my toes There’s no comfort for my mind But to feel your salt winds blow Clarion calling, you are my cure Endlessly wandering, drawn by your lure When midnight calls to her ghostly brides Drifting on the dreaming sea I feel the moon pulling at my tides A madness comes over me And when my last breath lingers And I fade into the night I will take your beckoning fingers And walk beyond the light Clarion calling, you are my cure Endlessly wandering, drawn by your lure
11.
The Haunting 04:21
Breathe it in and feel The mist upon the moor, concealing Nightmare in a dream The night is not so tranquil as it seems Wild wind is keening Wailing on the cliffs revealing Waves come thundering in I can hear the haunting rolling in Bygone lighthouse crumbling Falling toward the sea, she is tumbling Go away, where you can’t see The desolation of apathy The haunting comes in like lightning Never know where she’ll be striking next You glimpse her but you will never hold her To catch the wind we must be bolder. Promises you made Never meant to keep them anyway Comes a reckoning day The haunting will take back what you claimed. Greed has been our undoing But I see flowers rising from the ruin Come alive and plant the seed. We can build the life we need The haunting comes in like lightning Never know where she’ll be striking next You glimpse her but you will never hold her To catch the wind we must be bolder.

about

This music is dedicated to regeneration.
Of the land. Of the seas.
Of our relationships with one another.
May all life be honored.

We are part of the soul of nature, not separate from it. This album reflects the many moods of the sea, and how those moods are felt within us. Many of these songs were written during a time when the gravity of climate change was settling in to my psyche more deeply than yet had. You will hear this influence in the songs, yet also there is still hope. We are that hope. We must be.

11 songs written in a dreamy, ethereal, folk-rock style. Includes a visually extravagant digital lyric book featuring some of Sharon's art.

All songs © ℗ Sharon Knight and Winter/Sirensong Music/Binassyr Publishing.
